Profile

Catriona is a senior associate in the London office and a member of the shipping and commercial dispute resolution teams. She acts for a broad range of clients from around the world including P&I clubs, shipowners, underwriters and operators of passenger cruise vessels.

She regularly advises on a range of issues including marine personal injury and fatality incidents, yacht claims, travel law claims, professional negligence claims, regulatory investigations and criminal proceedings arising out of marine incidents.

Catriona read History and Politics at Newcastle University before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP University in London. She joined Thomas Cooper in 2016 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in September 2018.

Recent work highlights

  • Advising on both civil dependency and Crown Court criminal proceedings relating to a fatality in a capsize on the River Thames.
  • Acting for underwriters in a recovery and coverage dispute claim for monies lost in a cyber fraud incident.
  • Defending a cruise line in connection with a claim alleging abuse on board the ship.
