Penningtons shortlisted for International Legal Team of the Year

The private client team at Penningtons Solicitors LLP is again a finalist in this year’s Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Private Client Awards. Penningtons is the only UK-based firm on the shortlist for the International Legal Team of the Year category, succeeding in being selected ahead of competition from all over the world.

The award recognises a legal team that has worked particularly effectively on cross-border and international private client work over the past 12 months. As part of their submissions for the award, firms were asked to demonstrate evidence of the ways in which they have approached cross-border issues on behalf of their clients and utilised an international network to maximise their level of service and advice.

The Penningtons team undertakes a substantial amount of international work, particularly in the emerging markets including Russia and Africa, and in the Americas and continental Europe where it has long standing client relationships. The firm’s role as an active member of Multilaw also plays a large part in the continued strength of the team’s global network.

This is the first year in which the nomination process has been open to applicants from across the globe and it is a testament to the efforts of the team over the past year that Penningtons has received this recognition.

In the next stage of the competition, a panel of industry experts will give their recommendations to the presiding judges. This year’s STEP award winners will be announced at the eighth annual gala ceremony, which takes place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Wednesday 18 September.
