Penningtons Manches announces new head of private client

Posted: 13/05/2015

Clare Archer has been appointed as the new head of Penningtons Manches’ private client and tax practice, replacing Lesley Lintott who has stepped down as a partner after more than 40 years with the firm to become a senior counsel.

Clare qualified in 1994 and was a partner with Rooks Rider solicitors for nearly eight years before joining Penningtons Manches in February 2011. She advises on a heavy caseload of capital tax planning, the administration of complex and large estates, will and trust drafting, and a wide range of asset protection and equity work, particularly for business owners and elderly clients with capacity issues. Clare is also the consulting editor of the recently launched Family Offices: The STEP Handbook for Advisors.

Announcing Clare’s appointment, Tim Palmer, head of the private individuals division, congratulated her on her achievement and expressed his gratitude to Lesley Lintott for “her dedication to the role and her effective flying of the flag both externally and internally. She will be a hard act to follow.”

Comprising just under 50 partners and fee earners, the Penningtons Manches private client and tax team has been one of eprivateclient's Top 25 Law Firms for six years running; won the Citywealth Magic Circle Award for Law Firm of the Year 2014; and is highly ranked by the legal directories in the firm’s London, Surrey, Hampshire and Thames Valley offices.
