Penningtons Manches advises Verisk Analytics on acquisition of Maplecroft.net

Verisk Analytics Inc, a New Jersey-based supplier of data to insurers and banks, has acquired Maplecroft.Net Limited, a leading UK provider of global risk analytics and advisory services, for £20.3 million.

A multidisciplinary team from Penningtons Manches’ London office advised Verisk on the acquisition which establishes the company as a leading global provider of value chain optimisation tools to enable clients to quantify, mitigate and manage their risks.

Maplecroft’s database, risk calculator and mapping technologies are used by multinational financial firms, governments and non-governmental organizations to help clients assess geopolitical threats.

The Penningtons Manches team led by corporate partner, Christopher Owen, included tax partner, Stephen Goldstraw, employment partner, Sarah Johnson, commercial partner, Jon Bartley, and real estate partner, Alison Lewis.
