The corporate team at Penningtons Manches Cooper has advised education provider The Riverston Group on its sale of two schools to Oxfordshire based Chatsworth Schools.
Riverston School in London, which has specialist expertise in supporting children with speech, language and communication difficulties, and sister-school Beech Hall in Macclesfield have become part of the Chatsworth Schools family, taking its total number of schools and nurseries to fourteen. The Riverston Group and Chatsworth share the common aim of providing children with skills and confidence.
Following the change of ownership, both schools will continue to develop and will be greatly enhanced by the broader educational experience the team at Chatsworth will provide.
Chairman of The Riverston Group, Michael Lewis, will join Chatsworth Schools as a Governor.
Corporate partner Simon Bickerdike and associate Hannah McIlwraith advised on the transaction with real estate support from partner Sarah Coates and senior paralegal Becky Lund.
