A 25 year celebration of Anglo-Indian relationships

Posted: 24/10/2018

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Penningtons Manches’ India group and to celebrate this significant milestone, the team was delighted to welcome over 80 clients to a celebratory dinner and entertainment at The Taj Hotel, St James on 11 October 2018.

David Raine, CEO of Penningtons Manches, welcomed guests and praised the group’s achievements over the years. He endorsed the camaraderie and team spirit which embodies the group, and this was echoed by the guests who were present at the event.

Commenting on the night, founding member and head of the India group, Rustam Dubash, said: “It has been a remarkable 25 years of growth for the India group, which provides professional services to clients in all our core areas of work. We have a dedicated group of partners who look after our Indian clients and we will continue to support our clients and new clients as we continue to build on our first 25 years.”

Rustam continued: “Britain and India both face challenges short and long term, but I remain of the view that the knot that ties our two countries will remain strong and unbroken and we will have a closer relationship going forward. A very big and grateful thanks to our clients and referrers without whom we would not have such a successful India group.”

Commercial dispute resolution partner Phillip D’Costa compered the evening, and Pat Saini, head of immigration and winner of Professional of the Year 2018 at the UK India Awards and head of the financial regulatory team Teja Picton-Howell hosted a lively interactive quiz. The audience’s knowledge of key Anglo-Indian events spanning the last 25 years was tested, as well as their opinions on themes and events to come: from Bollywood blockbusters to Brexit, and all things in between.
