Penningtons Manches joins SVC2UK in panel discussion on scale-up businesses preparing for investment

As part of the ongoing relationship between Penningtons Manches and Silicon Valley comes to the UK (SVC2UK), the firm recently teamed up with accountancy firm Buzzacott (another sponsor of SVC2UK) in order to further assist scale-up companies in the UK that require access to the investor community. Members of the firm’s technology team attended the event, which included roundtable workshops and an interactive panel discussion.

Hosted by Buzzacott at their central London offices, over 50 of London and the South East's ambitious tech entrepreneurs, leading VCs and successful entrepreneurial mentors attended the event which looked to uncover the secrets to successfully attracting investment and the future success of tech businesses.

A range of topics were discussed during the lively panel sessions, including how to stand out from the crowd, building teams and managing time to bolster growth, sources of finance, due diligence, legal agreements and protecting IP. Panellists also addressed international expansion and the breadth of challenges the tech sector is facing, while highlighting the determination of individuals in this sector to overcome such challenges in order to continue to thrive.

Penningtons Manches corporate partner Chris Owen, who is a member of the technology team, said: “The plan is to have two or three of these events running every year to support the main SVC2UK summit which takes place in November. We were delighted to team up with Buzzacott and will be planning the next workshop soon.”
