Penningtons Manches partner shares catastrophic injury expertise at Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) conference

Warren Collins, Penningtons Manches’ catastrophic injury partner and the co-ordinator of APIL’s Spinal Cord Injury Special Interest Group, delivered a lecture entitled 'Spinal Cord Injury for Beginners' at the APIL annual conference at Celtic Manor in Newport, Wales on 2 May 2014.

His lecture provided personal injury lawyers interested in this specialist area with an insight into the complex world of spinal cord injury cases and began with an introduction to the medical anatomy of the spinal cord and how injuries at different levels can cause very different symptoms of paralysis.

Warren also explained some of the unique medical features of spinal cord injury and looked at the heads of damages and types of expert evidence required for these cases.
