Ann is a partner in the marine, trade and aviation team. She handles a broad range of commercial disputes with a strong focus on issues arising out of the travel, tourism and leisure sectors.

She provides advice to companies and insurers across Spain, Latin America and the UK, particularly in relation to contentious matters involving personal injury, including serious incidents such as assaults and fatalities. Her client base includes major cruise operators and their P&I insurers, for whom she handles on board accident investigations and manages claims brought by both passengers and crew members. In addition, Ann frequently represents hotel chains, tour organisers and insurers in connection with complex cross-border injury and illness claims arising from package holidays and excursions.

Gonzalo Alvar

Gonzalo is a partner in the Madrid office. With a long and continued practice of working for shipyards, shipowners and banks, he is one of the most reputed lawyers in Spain in relation to the shipbuilding industry.

During his career, he has participated in the negotiation of a number of shipbuilding projects, ship conversions and ship repair contracts. His practice includes advising on shipbuilding contracts, ship repair contracts, security packages (including refund guarantees, insurances bonds and mortgages), financing agreements, the Spanish tax lease system, agency and brokerage contracts, subcontracts and supply contracts. Gonzalo is also frequently requested by clients to follow up shipbuilding contracts until the delivery and registration of vessels. He has broad experience in restructuring shipbuilding contracts and ancillary documentation when shipyards face economic distress.

Juan is a partner in the shipping and commercial dispute resolution teams. Based in the Madrid office, he specialises in non-contentious and contentious work, particularly international arbitration and cross-border litigation in the oil and gas, energy, mining and commodity sectors in Spain and Latin America.

A fluent Spanish (mother tongue), Portuguese and Italian speaker, Juan read law at the University of Valencia and obtained an LLM from the University of London.
