She provides advice to companies and insurers across Spain, Latin America and the UK, particularly in relation to contentious matters involving personal injury, including serious incidents such as assaults and fatalities. Her client base includes major cruise operators and their P&I insurers, for whom she handles on board accident investigations and manages claims brought by both passengers and crew members. In addition, Ann frequently represents hotel chains, tour organisers and insurers in connection with complex cross-border injury and illness claims arising from package holidays and excursions.

Beyond litigation, Ann’s practice also includes advising on package travel regulations and related legal frameworks, consumer protection matters, regulatory compliance, and the drafting and review of contractual documentation such as passenger ticket terms and conditions. A fluent Spanish speaker, Ann divides her time between the firm’s Madrid and London offices to support clients across multiple jurisdictions.

His clients cover a wide spectrum of jurisdictions and industry sectors ranging from Spanish and Latin American oil companies, European energy companies and Brazilian mining and steel producers to international cement manufacturers and traders, sugar and ethanol producers, paper and cellulose producers and their insurers.

In addition to offering bespoke in-house training to his clients, Juan regularly lectures on shipping and international trade matters at a variety of international conventions. A fluent Spanish (mother tongue), Portuguese and Italian speaker, Juan read law at the University of Valencia and obtained an LLM from the University of London. He qualified in Spain in 1991 and in England and Wales in 1993. He became a partner at Thomas Cooper & Stibbard in 1996.
