More than a year on from its implementation, businesses are now getting used to “life with the GDPR”. Given the increasing exercise of rights by data subjects, and recent enforcement activity from regulators, our inaugural data protection forum will provide an opportunity for DPOs and others responsible for data protection compliance to discuss this topic with peers and our data protection team.
Our first session will focus on:
Data subject rights – in practice
This will be a discussion on the types of Subject Access Requests (SARs) being received, how organisations are dealing with these and extending the initial time limit to respond. We’ll also consider the approach that the ICO is taking in respect of responses to SARs and complaints made on incorrect and/or inappropriate responses to SARs. There will be an opportunity to share and discuss your experiences within the group. We’ll round up with some top tips on managing SARs and briefly discuss how they differ from the right to be forgotten in practice.
