Furlough leave: answers to (some of) the difficult questions

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is one of the most ambitious support packages announced by the chancellor to provide assistance to employers and employees during this unprecedented period of uncertainty.

To help employers navigate and interpret this new scheme, we have created a guide that answers some of the most common questions asked by our clients, including:

  • understanding furlough leave and how to make a claim
  • considerations around reaching an agreement with employees
  • special circumstances such as annual leave and maternity leave
  • what happens at the end of the scheme and returning employees to work

This will be updated on a regular basis as further guidance is released.
